A series of large-scale, suspended sculptures or “quilts,” begun in 2021, made of pigmented, cast silicone rubber blocks made from arrangements of stripped ethernet wires. Inspired by pieced quilt block patterns, the works use repeating geometry to create colorful and complex compositions. The pieces balance the comfort and familiarity of quilts with the unsettling artificiality of silicone, hinting at the undercurrents of digital debris that permeate our lives and the growing unease that comes with living in an increasingly digital and virtual world.
